Man has passed through the agrarian age, the technological revolution to the machine age, the atomic age, the computer age, and now has entered into the communication age. His communication skills have progressed from written messages delivered by personal messengers to pony express, telegraph, telephone, radio, television, satellites, fiberoptic cables, and finally to a computerized worldwide web. Today, computers talk to each other and to people almost instantaneously anywhere on earth. Books and magazines are no longer produced on printing presses; everything is done by computers untouched by human hands. Pictures and copy can be sent by FAX machines via telephone lines to any place serviced by such lines. The emphasis today is on ever more rapid processing and transmission of information. Global positioning satellites make possible the location of individuals, vehicles, and military targets with pinpoint accuracy. Submarines can communicate underwater to other vessels and even airplanes. Communication between earth and planetary probes is possible over millions of miles of space. Powerful diagnostic machines can probe the invisible working of body organs and detect defects and malfunctions. Man's world has grown ever smaller and smaller as he progresses into the information age.
However, these marvelous communication skills are puny compared to God's marvelous communication system. He is constantly in touch with the farthest reaches of the universe by means of the employment of a vast courier network of millions of angelic messengers. God's throne room is the scene of myriads of these messengers coming and going in perfect order and discipline with no duplication of effort. God sits on His throne ordering that which in His infinite wisdom He deems best for His creations. Through foreknowledge, omniscience, and omnipotence, the universe operates in complete harmony with no emergencies nor surprises.
Earth is the only world where there is disharmony and seeming chaos. Even here, however, God has established a worldwide communication system involving the Holy Spirit and a heavenly host of angels. Nothing happens on earth that is secret from the angelic eyes of the Lord. God has created all things with the ability to interact and communicate. Honey bees tell each other where there is nectar, ants tell each other about a food source, whales communicate and also porpoises and fish. Even my cat has a vocabulary of different meows. The various organs of the human body communicate with one another through chemical messengers called hormones. These hormones control muscle function, heartbeat, kidney function, digestion, and respiration. Differentiation of stem cells involves some kind of inter-cellular communication. With all this evidence, there can be no doubt that God is "the Greatest Communicator."
