The latter part of the twentieth century was marked by the discovery of strange new diseases of the brain and nervous system. Medical terms such as HIV, AID's, Alzheimer's, Creutzfeldt-Jakob, Mad-Cow were invented to describe these new causes of senile dementia. They may have existed before, but were all lumped together under the general term, dementia. The cause of Alzheimer's disease is unknown, but the effects are very similar to those caused by spongiform viral infections. These viruses have a very long incubation period, so one can be infected for many years before any symptoms appear.
Creutzfeldt-Jakob is the human form of a disease originally found in sheep Mad-Cow disease is quite similar, and thousands of infected animals have been destroyed in England, France, and other European countries to stop the spread of the disease. It may be spread by air-borne dust, contaminated soil or water, or by ingesting infected meat. Since the virus is so slow acting, it is impossible to determine how many people have been infected; it may be that thousands of persons are infected without knowing it. It may even be possible that many cases diagnosed as Alzheimer are actually cases of Spongiform Viral Encephalopathy.
Another viral disease recently identified in 1981, has reached almost epidemic proportions, particularly in Africa where it is thought to have originated. It is called Human Immunodeficiency Virus or HIV. This disease, also known as AID's (Acquired Immunodeficiency Disease), is easily transmitted from one individual to another by sexual contact, unsterilized needles, or by any exchange of body fluids. The virus attacks the white blood cells called T-lymphocytes, which causes a breakdown of the immune system and leads eventually to death from lethal diseases such as tuberculosis and pneumonia. There is no known antidote and the average life-span of an AID's victim is five years. Anyone who contracts the disease is said to be HIV positive.
There is another viral disease that is not a recent one for it was identified long ago, and it has infected every human being on earth. I have chosen to call it the Sinful Nature Virus - SNV. Man has tested positive ever since he first received it from Satan in the Garden of Eden, and it has been passed down through every generation for the last sixty centuries. However, even though the virus is deadly, thank God there is an antidote. That antidote is the atoning blood of Jesus, shed to erase sin from the human heart. Only by accepting the antidote can we escape inevitable death and become SNV negative.
