We live in a three dimensional world of space and an additional dimension of time. Thus, any point in space can be located by giving measurements of left or right, forward or backward, up or down from a given reference point. On the earth's surface this is accomplished geographically with latitude and longitude. Time enters the picture when conditions at that point change. I could return to my home town, but the house of my birth may be completely changed or even nonexistent. Suppose I make an appointment to meet Joe Green on the second floor of the building at Main and K streets at 2:30 PM I walk forward two blocks on Main to L street, turn left a block to K, enter the building and take the elevator to the second floor. Whether or not I meet Joe depends on whether or not our two watches are synchronized and if we are on time. It is possible to be at the right place at the wrong time. When we send a probe to Mars, not only the coordinates must be right but also the timing must be very accurate.
The book 'Flatland' envisions what it would be like to live in a two dimensional world. In such a world there would be only length and width but no height. Different plane geometric shapes could inhabit this space, but nothing solid. Now, suppose that a three dimensional being would intrude into this two dimensional world and draw a line on the surface. The two dimensional beings would suddenly see a strange event and have no idea where it came from. In fact the three dimensional being could insert or withdraw at will without the two dimensional inhabitants knowing its source or what it looked like.
Using this analogy, would it not be possible for a four dimensional being to so intrude into our three dimensional world? Such a being would be invisible except when there was an intentional contact. This being would exist in a different space(-)time continuum and would be able to appear or disappear at will. Lest this seem rather fanciful, there is credible scientific evidence at the subatomic level that such space(-)time anomalies exist, and that other dimensional universes are possible.
The Bible has frequent references of holy beings called angels that seem to have the ability to mysteriously appear and disappear. The fingers of a mysterious angelic hand wrote its baleful message on the wall of Beltshazzar's palace (Dan. 5:5). Angels also have the ability to make humans invisible, as they did to save Jesus' life on a hill outside Nazareth (Luke 4:30, DA 240). Evidently the angels live in a higher dimensional world that is independent of the constraints of our three dimensional one. This would suggest the existence of "a divine dimension."
