Annually we attend the Taos
Wool Festival in Taos, New Mexico. This festival is held yearly
on the first full weekend in October and is centered around the
wonderful world of wool/fiber animals and their products. People
attend from all over the United States. It is a colorful menagerie
of fiber animals, adults, children and dogs. Our friends and fellow
breeders Jerry & Lyn Brown of La Plata, NM sponsor the booth
at this wonderful festival each year. The California Red Sheep
breeders help equip the booth with talented offerings of fiber
oriented art and products. Mike and I try to schedule our year
so that we may attend and enjoy the ambiance of Taos and this
special weekend.
Our
annual sheep shearing is usually in March and anyone is welcome
to come see the sheep sheared, wormed, vaccinated and vet inspected
(required for Voluntary Scrapie Program).
Check out this year's "Sheep Shearing" photos.
