PURPOSE

The purpose of Fresno Missionary Baptist Institute is to train ministerial students and Christian workers in presenting the Word of God. The textbook that governs this school is the Bible. Courses of instruction are designed to best help students rightly divide the Word of Truth. The main objective is that students will develop into fundamental, evangelistic, mission-minded, church-minded workers who will be dedicated to bringing honor and glory to God.

LOCATION

Fresno Missionary Baptist Institute is located at 1195 E. Shepherd in Fresno, California. Fresno offers a number of advantages to students who desire to further their education in other and related fields. The high schools offer a number of night courses for students. Fresno State University and Fresno City College give the serious student an opportunity to receive instruction in various fields, which may prove beneficial to their ministries for the Lord.

WORK ADVANTAGES

Because of the size of Fresno and the increase in industrialization, many job opportunities are available. The person with any skill has little difficulty finding employment. Those with few skills who are willing to work usually have varied opportunities. The employed students are alerted to watch for job openings at their places of employment for those sincerely desiring work in order to attend school. 

SUPPORT OF FMBI

Fresno Missionary Baptist Institute is supported by free- will offerings from Missionary Baptist Churches and friends who love the cause of Christ and want to see His ministers have a place to study and is completely dependent on freewill offerings.

DEFERRED GIVING PLANS

Individuals may make use of the various deferred giving arrangements provided under the current U. S. Federal tax laws, The following plans are applicable-. Gift Annuities, Annuity Trusts, Uni-Trust, Life Income contracts, Wills, Life Estate Contracts.

THE MISSIONARY BAPTIST HERALD

The Missionary Baptist Herald, a quarterly publication of the Fresno Missionary Baptist Institute, is designed to keep our people informed of the work of the school, churches, missions and to present timely thought-provoking articles that promote the work of Missionary Baptists. Churches or individuals may address subscription inquiries to Missionary Baptist Herald, 1195 E. Shepherd, Fresno, CA. 93720.

APPLICATION

All correspondence concerning admission to FMBI should be addressed to the Registrar. The Registrar's office will supply the applicant with the proper forms. When these forms and all transcripts of previous academic training have been returned, proper consideration and instruction shall be given to the applicant. A $10.00 application fee must accompany the application for admission. This fee is not refundable but is applied toward the first semester's matriculation fee.

ELIGIBILITY

Eligibility of applicants will be considered on the basis of previous training. Applicants desiring to enter seminary training must have achieved at least a high school diploma or the equivalent. All other applications that are accepted will be trained on the institute level until all requirements are met for seminary training.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION

A matriculation fee of $10.00 per class, per semester will be charged all students. This fee is paid upon enrollment and is not refundable unless the school rejects the student.

The tuition fee is $40.00 per semester hour or $1,440.00 for students enrolled in 12 or more hours. Upon recommendation from the church of his membership, a tuition waiver will be granted to students who hold membership in a New Testament Church in fellowship with the First Missionary Baptist Church of Fresno, California.

Registration and enrollment fees are not refundable. Tuition fees will be refunded to students withdrawing at the following rate: withdrawal during the first week, 90% refund-, second week, 80% refund, third week, 70% refund; fourth week, 60% refund; fifth week, 50% refund. There will be no refund of tuition fees after the fifth week of school.
